David Maurice Griffin is a native of Washington, DC, a U.S. Navy veteran with 14 years of honorable active-duty service, and a compassionate faith and community leader. Now residing in Columbia, South Carolina, with his husband, Benjamin Griffin III, David has dedicated his life to service, healing, and empowerment across ministry, wellness, and advocacy.
Diagnosed with HIV in 2010, David transformed his journey into purpose-driven advocacy, becoming a powerful voice for people living with HIV through education, storytelling, and community engagement. He has served on the Gilead COMPASS Community Advisory Council with the Southern AIDS Coalition and is a proud member of the U.S. People Living with HIV Caucus. As the founder of Beyond Our Status, David works to bridge the gap between faith communities and people of color living with HIV, creating safe spaces where stigma is dismantled and hope thrives. He also serves as one of the Lead Pastors of Christ Over Everything (C.Or.E.) Ministries, continuing his lifelong commitment to faith, restoration, and transformation.
A Board-Certified Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist, David is the Owner of EmpowerFuel Massage & Wellness LLC and holds advanced credentials in multiple therapeutic modalities. Passionate about education, he serves as Program Director for the Professional Clinical Massage Therapy Program at Southeastern College’s North Charleston campus, shaping the next generation of massage therapy professionals. He is also one of the four Founders of Lambda Beta Delta Nu Fraternity, Inc., reflecting his ongoing dedication to leadership, community, and legacy.

Benjamin Griffin III is a visionary leader, born and raised in Beaufort, South Carolina, whose life and career are defined by integrity, service, and a commitment to excellence. He holds an Associate Degree, a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Human Resource Management, and a Master of Business Administration with the same minor. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership, focusing on strategies that strengthen workplace culture, enhance operational efficiency, and develop effective leaders.
As the founder of Lambda Beta Delta Nu Fraternity, Inc., a non-collegiate Greek organization, Benjamin has created a platform for leadership development, mentorship, and community engagement. He also serves as Co-Pastor of Christ Over Everything (C.Or.E.), a ministry dedicated to serving the community and thinking outside the box to ensure everyone hears and experiences the love of Christ.
Professionally, he works in the transportation industry, ensuring that every child receives safe, efficient school transportation. Married to David Maurice Griffin, Benjamin is also a devoted foster parent, providing stability and guidance for children in South Carolina. Within EmpowerFuel Massage & Wellness LLC, Benjamin handles all human resources and organizational matters. His vision is to influence organizations, communities, and ministries in ways that create lasting impact and prepare the next generation of leaders to serve with purpose.
