EmpowerFuel Massage & Wellness is also Purple!
In support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, EmpowerFuel Massage & Wellness is also going purple for the month of October!
Over the past 30+ years, much progress has been made to support domestic violence victims and survivors, to hold abusers accountable, and to create and update legislation to further those goals. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men. ~National Coalition Against Domestic Violence
Because trauma is often stored in the body, massage is an excellent tool for relieving stored trauma and tension. Most people who’ve been through trauma are not in their bodies — in a sense their spirit leaves their body for a moment. Massage is a helpful way to ground people back into their bodies and create a feeling of safety again.
EmpowerFuel Massage & Wellness Goes Pink!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and EmpowerFuel Massage & Wellness extend our support in spreading awareness of breast cancer’s impact on our communities.
What kind of impact does stress have on breast cancer? In 2012, some research studies have shown that factors such as traumatic events and losses can alter immune system functions. When immune functions are altered, cancer cells may have an opportunity to get themselves established within one’s body. What has been shown is that it is not the fact that a major life crisis has occurred but instead how the individual reacted to this event and coped (or didn’t cope). Therefore, identifying ways to keep your stress level in check is wise. ~National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
